Excursion Itinerary

Start from your cruise exit, pick up and drive to El Alamein; it is tiny city about 120 Kms to the West of Alexandria on the Mediterranean Sea. It is most prominent as the place where the Allied forces of WW II obtained a definite victory of the Axis forces. El Alamein Battle was one of the most big facing of this War.

Stop at El Alamein Military Museum; founded in 1965 then it was renovated and reopened in 1992, it is an integrated illustration of the story of World War II in North Africa, there are five halls inside, each of them is devoted to one of the four countries engaged in the war, it displays collection of uniforms, armed vehicles & weaponry .

Get break for lunch then proceed to visit the WW II Cemeteries, the sepulture place of 7,240 Commonwealth soldiers died at the different stages of the Western Desert campaigns, predominately those who were killed in El Alamein 1942 Battle. The cemetery comprises 7,240 burials for Common wealth, Greek, Italian & German soldiers.
